Firstly, I want to talk about how much I love the above photo.. in this moment, at sunrise on Tuesday, 1 January 2019, I was completely content with where I was heading in terms of my goals and plans ahead. This has not changed one month in, why? Because this year I’m choosing to not be too hard on myself, I’m deciding that progress over perfection is enough, because I deserve to feel content at every stage of my journey, and so do you darling, we all do.
There is a part of me that can’t believe that we are nearly at the end of January, the first month of 2019, already. I don’t feel as if it has gone quickly though, unlike 2018, which for me felt like it completely flew past my eyes before I had a chance to grasp hold of it and really make the most of it, which is why I’m really making an effort this year to be present as much as possible.
I am currently halfway through the second year of my blogging journey, as SPARKLE on darling was launched halfway through 2017, though I still plan to utilise the ‘New Year’ vibes towards my blogging journey all the same.
A new year can mean a lot of things, for me one of the first things it means is new goals and plans. I personally love hearing about others goals and plans because I love to support others and I also find it super inspiring and motivating for my own journey too.
Begin 2019 with me and spend 7 transformational days preparing to make 2019 YOUR YEAR.
As another year comes to a close, it’s that time again where we stop to reflect on what we achieved, and of course, what we didn’t. I put my hand up and acknowledge that my 2018 wasn’t all SPARKLE. I started things that I didn’t finish, I picked up some bad habits and because of this I wasn’t as kind to myself as I should have been, but there is still a lot I should be proud of.. a lot of beautiful memories, amazing opportunities, exciting milestones, fun achievements and new paths taken.
If you are reading this tonight (Sunday, 23 December 2018) there are only 2 more sleeps until Christmas Day! To say I am excited and feeling all the love for this sparkling day to come is an understatement. I absolutely love spoiling my loved ones and spending quality time with them, and Christmas Day for me is about all of that, and more.
I am so excited about publishing this new recipe on SPARKLE on darling for you, my sparkling reader (it’s been a little too long since I’ve published a new recipe on the blog). This recipe might just be my favourite I’ve created yet, so I cannot wait to share it with you.
If you didn’t already know (ie. are that person living under a rock - which I doubt my sparkling readers are), we are well and truly into the busy season now, or as I like to call it, the ‘Festive Season’. Public transport is becoming emptier, the shopping centres are becoming busier, the streets are decorated and sparkling, and if you are like me, you have a lot to do (a lot).
Hello December! The sparkliest month of the year (in my personal opinion anyway), because it’s now Summer here in Australia, the festive season is upon us and one of my favourite days of the year too, Christmas Day.
Self love can come in many forms, from things you do for yourself, to how you feel about yourself. So why is it so important, and on everyone’s radar as something we should all attain?
Welcome to my second ever Coffee Talk (you can read my first here - ‘My First Coffee Talk + Exciting News’).
This short and sweet blog post is to hold myself accountable to (actually) restart my health journey.. again.
Last Sunday, 30 September 2018, I celebrated my sixth Active Nation Day.
What is Active Nation Day?
Active Nation Day is a day created by Lorna Jane to get the Nation (and the world) moving. To spread awareness about how important it is to move and to encourage everyone and anyone to move their body and fall in love with how exercise makes them feel all over again.
In case you missed my recent coffee talk on the blog (read it here - ‘New Year Coffee Talk #4 + I’m on ‘Staycation’’), on Saturday, 26 January 2019, the first public holiday long weekend this year here in Brisbane, I decided to take myself on a little getaway, but as I stayed in the city where I reside, it was more of a ‘staycation’ rather than ‘getting away’.
