Restarting My Health Journey (Again)

This short and sweet blog post is to hold myself accountable to (actually) restart my health journey.. again.

This year I have had the usual highs and lows when it comes to my fitness journey (read it here ‘Restarting My Fitness Journey (Again)’ and here ‘My Fitness Journey + Taking a Break’), and along with these highs and lows my health journey has come along for the ride too.

At this point I really don’t feel like I have a ‘heathy’ routine anymore. I haven’t been putting my usual effort into meal prep (which is strange for me because I love it so much!), I can tell I haven’t been drinking enough water or eating enough whole foods because my skin has started to break out in unusual places, and above all I am feeling depleted energy wise, even after a solid 8+ hours sleep, I can feel like I haven’t slept. So, it’s time to make a change.

Last year I did an 8 week program by JSHealth, The JSHealth Program. I will do a blog post dedicated to the program, my experiences, thoughts and everything in between, but basically it’s an 8 week program designed to educate and empower you to change your relationship with food and your body, for life. So as part of my heath journey restart I have decided to restart my online program starting today which is Prep Week, and I couldn’t be more excited to begin all over again. I’m quite literally to bursting to overhaul my pantry and the fridge during Prep Week.

At the end of the day it’s all good and well to have intentions, but if you want to achieve these intentions you have to take those intentions and turn them into an action plan.

Here are the basics of my heath journey restart plan..

  • Begin The JSHealth Program (today marks the beginning of Prep Week - next week will be Week 1).

  • Put the effort into meal prep every Sunday to prepare for my week ahead.

  • Don’t start my morning with coffee! I plan to make it my second choice and instead have the simple classic, lemon water, first thing.

  • Make it a priority to drink 2 litres of water every day.

  • Start/or end each day with some light stretching/yoga.

  • Make an effort to do something for my soul each week, whether it’s a walk around my beautiful little neighbourhood or a catch up with someone who makes my soul SPARKLE.

  • End my day with reading before sleep (no tech included) to ensure I will have a restful sleep. I feel I have been watching a little too much Netflix lately..

I plan to implement all of the above and more, and I also plan to not only do a blog post about The JSHealth Program for those that are interested, but also to do updates about my heath journey restart in general, including all of my successes (and falls - because stopping having coffee first thing might be a bit of a process, I’ll keep you updated on this one and my alternatives).

I cannot wait to share this healthy journey restart with you, my sparkling reader. I will forever be a work in progress and I am more than ok with that. Right now I am feeling inspired, motivated and excited to give my body back the love that it so rightfully deserves (and truly has been craving). Bring on beginning my heath journey, all over again.

All my love,
